ABSTRACT
Objective:
The aim of this study was to measure sleep quality during pregnancy, and to determine its corresponding factors that affect sleep quality.
Materials and methods:
Our study was conducted on 100 healthy pregnant women who apply Ahmet Necdet Sezer Hospital of Afyonkarahisar Kocatepe University. Data was collected using face-to-face method. A standard questionnaire (Appx: 1) was used to record sociodemographic properties and status of their pregnancy. Sleep quality was evaluated by Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (Appx: 2), sleep apnea by Berlin Questionnaire (Appx: 3), and sleepiness status by Epworth Sleepiness Scale (Appx: 4).
Results:
Sleep quality was determined as poorer in 86% of women. It is found that sleep quality is related to age, obesity, applying to a doctor, and other illnesses affecting pregnancy.
