ABSTRACT

Management of hydatidiform moles remains surgical evacuation and human gonadotropin monitoring. Hysterectomy may be an option for patients especially who do not wish to preserve fertility. Althought chemotherapy regimes are very effective for treating malignant gestational throphoblastic neoplasia, hysterectomy and other extirpative procedures play an important role especially in reducing the amount of chemotherapy, drug-insensitive diseases and hemorrhagic complications. This review discusses the indications and the role of surgical interventions during the management of women with hydatidiform moles and malignant gestational trophoblastic neoplasia.
